Espoo Expos – Classic Baseball Club in Espoo, Finland

Espoo Expos is a baseball club based in Espoo, in the Helsinki capital region. We compete in the Superbaseball League. Finland's top-tier baseball competition, and the Fat Lizard League, with four teams representing the club: Espoo Expos, Lintuvaara XL5, Espoon Betoni, and Espoon Teräs. The club has over 60 active members and decades of combined experience.

Classic baseball training session at Espoo Expos

New players are always welcome. We train year-round, indoors during winter, outdoors throughout the summer, and the official game season runs from April through September. Come to a free tryout practice, or attend one of our events as a spectator to experience the game and the community firsthand. No prior experience is needed.

Training

Espoo Expos baseball training session at Kilo field

We train year-round. During the season (April–September), practices are held on weekday evenings at least twice a week at our outdoor artificial turf field in Kilo, Espoo, next to the Kilo commuter train station, with a batting cage and equipment storage on site. During the off-season (October–March), the full club trains together on Sunday evenings at an indoor hall in Laaksolahti, Espoo. All equipment is provided. More about training.

Competitions

Superbaseball League game in Finland

The club fields two teams in the Superbaseball League (Finland's top-tier baseball competition) and two teams in the Fat Lizard League, Finland's second-tier league. The season runs from May to early September and ends with playoff series and finals. Home games are free and open to everyone. Selected Superbaseball League matches are streamed live on Ruutu. Classic American baseball, the same sport as MLB, has been played competitively in Finland since 1981, organized by the Finnish Baseball and Softball Federation (SBSL). The federation is a member of the Finnish Olympic Committee and the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC). Can I watch games?

Yes. All home games are free and open to the public. Game dates are advertised on our social media channels. Selected Superbaseball League matches are also streamed live on Ruutu.
